February 22-23, 2008: Candidate Training School--I unofficially announced my candidacy for School Board (2010)

November 3, 2007:  I was invited by the Junior League of San Diego to do a booksigning and reading at their annual Mistletoe Mercado event. 

October 4, 2007:  I coordinated and facilitated a panel entitled, "Post Virginia Tech:  Remembering, Reflecting and Responding."  Panelists included Mayor Cheryl S. Cox (big fan of hers) and Mr. Joe Foster, Virginia Tech Alum.  It was part of USD's 18th annual Social Issues Conference.

September 8, 2007:  I was a panelist for SCBWI's Opening Session.  I spoke about the current trends in Asian-American children's literature.  Other panelists included Dr. Alida Allison and Ms. Joann Jonas. 

June 3, 2007:  I attended the MTV Movie Awards in L.A.
